Very random question and I'm wondering whether any of you experienced this as well.
My son is now 8.5 weeks old and was born at home after a 20 min extremely fast labour. I had a massive bloody show and my waters broke after that (they broke in a massive gush) and they were full with bright red blood! Five mins after that my son was born alive and healthy.
But I'm just starting to question and wonder whether that is normal? I never had the blood with my daughter apart from a show. I rang the hospital when it happened and they told me to come in immediately.
I googled it and a few say that it can show that the baby is in distress, but obviously I wouldn't have known that as I had no care during my labour.
So did anyone experience pretty much pure bright red blood in their waters when they broke and was t considered 'normal' or was it a cause for concern? It's just something I've thought about a few times and wondered about. Especially as just before he was born I was panicking so much not knowing whether he was going to be born alive or not!
