I'm so fed up off these bottles leaking!!!:growlmad: I'll start feeding Adam only to discover that the milk is pouring out the neck of the bottle, so off course I have to "take away" the bottle to loosen the screw top and re-tighten it, all the while poor Adam is screaming blue murder:hissy: because I took the bottle away before he was ready!! I had no probs with the 4 oz ounce once I first used, so had no qualms about getting the 9 oz ones. Wish I hadn't bothered now!!!:nope:
Can any one recommend bottles that DON'T leak? Thanx in advance!!!x:flower:

Dont say that, they're the ones ive just bought.

Avent's solution to leaking bottles is to put together the teat, collar and lid, then tighten that onto the bottle holding the lid rather than the collar. As soon as the lid starts turning against the collar, stop tightening it. That works for me 99% of the time.

If you have the bottles with the extra bit (the plastic ring thing that goes on the bottle before the collar and teat, that doesn't work - tightening really tight does though. HTH.

i have tommee tippee close to nature bottles never had problems with leaking and my girl loves them

I had this problem with my bottles, they seem to be ok now after a few months... but they did my head in so much i brough some tt ones for when we went out else i had a very wet changing bag! :dohh:

Tommee tippie bottles I think their the best and I e tried most lol, their just so simple and easy to use and my LO loves them! Xx

I have the same problem with my advent ones, luckly Rhys will drink from anything and I have been using mothercare bottles to with no problems

mine used to do this and then i realised i wasnt putting the lid on properly. you need to put the top on and turn it anti-clockwise untill it clicks and you can feel it click and then screw it on clockwise. they just need to lock in properly and then it should be fine x

I used Avent bottles for nathan and found they would sometimes leak! i thought it was because the lid wasn't on properly or that i was putting them together when they were still hot from sterilising

I got tommee tippee closer to nature bottles for Mirren and they never leak and she gets on great with them. Think the teats create more of a natural feeding position for baby as they make them open their mouth wide like breast feeding.

I have the same problem! But I have it the other way round I only have problems with the little 4oz ones. Which isn't really TOO much of a problem now because I only use them for water as she's on more than that size bottle holds.

I do want to try the TT closer to nature ones but I'm not sure if it would be worth it because the teets are so different she might not like them

I used avent bottles with my first and had the same prob now and then. Once you get used to the best way of tightening them you'll be fine. Im using them again this time along with a couples of TT ones but only using TT for when im out then can carry the formula separate.

When I remember, I too do the "half-turn anticlockwise then turn clockwise to tight" method. I am also now in the habit of tipping the bottle over the sink and rotating it to check whether it leaks or not.

Doesn't always work though. One bottle today, I gave him half the feed, no problems. Put bottle down. After a while he vomited ... So I subsequently gave him the other half of the same bottle - and that time it flippin' leaked on me! Nobody else had touched the bottle inbetween, it had just been sat on the side.

I haven't had any problems with the Avent bottles
I've always twisted the lid anti clockwise and then clockwise and made sure the blue seal ring thing is in properly.
maybe try that? :flower:

I've tried twisting anti clockwise then clockwise and I've made sure that no powder is clogging the threads but still I get leaks! I'll maybe try the tommee tippee ones and see how we go!!! Thanks ladies!!!x

I had the same problem. The 4oz were fine..the 9oz leaked if I didnt' put the lid on just right. It wasn't a problem at home, because I could just test it over the sink and make sure it wasn't leaking. I usually only had a problem with them in public when we were in a place where we didn't want her screaming at the top of her lungs..LOL. I decided to try different bottles. She is currently using NUK and I find them to be ok. She doesn't seem to spit up as much with them. I tried Soothie, and she hated them. She will also take the plain cheap bottles, but I don't like mixing formula in them. I don't know if she is just a messy eater or just has a strong suck since she was BF for 3 months, but every teat style she drinks from some milk runs out the side of her mouth even using a slow flow teat. That is quite annoying, but I keep hoping she will get better with that.

i find avent bottles the best, ive had no problems n lo's colic is so much better with the avent bottles x soz its causin probs for u xx

I've not had any problems with Avent bottles so far...

I'm using the NUK bottles for Kalyn. She seems to like them and no leaking or anything of the sort. And I like to anti-colic business to them.

It's really frstrating when they do that I think avent should imprve their design. I used these bottles with my daughter five years ago and they were fine so bought them again this time and they keep leaking! Avent- sort it out!!

My SIL told me to stay away from Avent due to leaking so I use Tommee Tippee and have so far had no problems
