Bloody snot sorry TMI

I know nasal congestion is a common thing during pregnancy, but does anyone else have an issue with blood in their snot? Every morning when I wake up I blow my nose for like 10 minutes, there are streaks of blood in my snot. Sometimes it's really bloody and then turns into a nose bleed. Most of the time it's just streaked with blood. Anyone else have this issue or is my house just really dry??

Yeah all the time hunny, we're supposed to suffer nose bleeds aswell so its probably mild cases we're getting when we get streaks of it. It's to do with the blood vessels in your nose? i dunno but i get it too lol xxx

its really common
all the extra blood in your body can cause some blood vessels in ur nose to break, as they are fragile there.

Yep, I'm always congested, and usually have to blow my nose often. It's always bloody. Ilovemybump has the right of it.

I get this too....it's gross. And I feel like my nose is always stuffed....which explains the trucker like snoring I'm told I have since becomming pregnant. I'm not sure I believe it though....surely not me!

I have this as well. Not the full nose bleed, but the blood in my snot.
Have read that our blood vessels in our nasal passage have increased, which is what causes the sensitivity to smells, as well as congestion and nose bleeds. All common.

nope, definitely not just you. it's also a daily occurrence for me, along with constant nasal congestion. haven't really had nose bleeds per say, but it's still gross! hang in there!

i have put this in a couple of other posts aswell, my nose is driving me mad, sneezing sniffing, gettingblocked and the worse, bleeding everytime i blow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am soooo glad Im not the only one! This has started happening to me in the last week - never turns to full on nosebleed but just blood stained snot and very sneezy too

Yeh I have this everyday. I sound like I have a cold most of the time and I keep sneezing but it's not a cold. The blood is there all the time, some days it is worse! Just another thing to add to our list of pregnancy symptoms.

All the time for me too, constantly sniffling and blowing my nose and when I do there's blood in it.

I had this really bad too, and eventually turned the heat lower in the house because it was really drying out the air making it worse. In the evenings I would boil a cup of water and breathe in the warm steam- very soothing! And I put a ultra-sonic humidifier in my bedroom for when I slept. The super dry air in winter plus being pregnant made for some really bloody snot. At one point I was using a q-tip to try and rub vaseline up in my nose- but that didn't do anything

Blood vessels in your nose can burst easier during pregnancy - it happens to me even without snot, I'll get the odd nose bleed.. just try to avoid dry rooms etc. as much as you can, seems to help!

Yes! Oh I thought it was just me! thank god. I was getting a bit worried there. The dry air from the winter doesn't help either, sometimes I wake up during the night because my nose is so dried out. I really need to buy a humidifier I just can't afford one right now, so I've resorted to using this facial spa I got as a gift for christmas, and using that to fill up the air with so humidity.
