Hi, Im just wondering if anyone else noticed this or know what it is, i dont know if i should be worried, but my baby is 10 days old today and yesterday i noticed some red blotches on her legs, and today after bathing her i noticed more on her arms and belly, they flare up more after a bath but settle down afterwards and most fade, some have a tiny pimple in the centre of the red blothes, thought it could maybe the fabric conditioner so iv stopped using it now, she is absolutely fine in her self, and next mw visit is Friday, any ideas and should i be worried?

I was told by my midwive that newborns might get blotchy skin anyway, but if your worried about it I would see a doctor. Do the blotches go away and come back later?

My baby is 11 months and she still gets red marks but I think that is from maybe if i lift her up or Im holding her or something, I dont know, but it goes away. However these were only little small red marks

Babies do have very sensitive skin, I used fairy powder to wash her clothes and asdas own brand fabric conditioner for sensitive skin (won the mother and baby awards)

Even just give the midwive a phone and ask her xx

If you use bubble bath or anything like that, try and stear clear for now

My baby has this all over her face and chest. It started when she was 2 weeks, and it's only just starting to disappear. They appear much worse when she's hot, or when she's crying. My HV told me it's basically baby spots, thanks to all the hormones she was exposed to (she also had tiny boobs, lol, very weird). She told me to keep cleansing her skin with water, and to check in with the doctor if they appear to go dry and scabby, because then she might need cream. I'm sure she's fine, but if you're worried, a quick reassuring phone call to your midwife might help? :D

Yes they go away and come back, they were on her arms and chest after a bath and now they disapeared, but still some on her legs, i only use simple naturals in her bath, il defo ask anyway thanks

We had to go to hospital with Frankie when he was 10 days old because of weight loss and he had these blotches then, sounds exactly like what you're describing. Doc said it's a very normal new born rash and that it would clear itself up,which it did. So don't worry about it!!

Was your LO overdue? Mine was 12 days late and his skin was very dry and blotchy for a few weeks. Rubbing him with olive oil after baths really helped.
