Anyone else had this? I wear glasses anyways as am short sighted but have noticed recently that my vision is more blurred than usual. I've had a google and it says that this can happen in pregnancy and it's best not to change your prescription whilst pregnant as your vision may go back to normal after so many months of giving birth.

Just wondered if anyone else had this too? It's very annoying and hoping it's not the case my vision has in fact got even worse. I can't remember if this happened with my first or not? I know when she was 1 was when got my last prescription.

I got glasses a few weeks before finding out I was pregnant, and used them only for reading.
I find that now I'm needing them more and more often, not only for reading, and my vision is usually blurry, more so than before.

It can also be a sign of pre-eclampsia, which doesn't sound like the case for you, but that's what happened to me when I was pregnant with my dd. I would mention it to your doctor just to be safe!

I'm going to get my eyes checked and probably get new glasses. Even if vision goes back to being what is normal it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Mainly because vision exams are supposed to be annual exams and if my vision has gone back to my normal level I'll just get my eyes re-checked and get my old prescription back after baby is born.

I work as an optician and I can certainly say that I see this wayyyy to often. I have to constantly tell woman that they cannot get glasses till after a few weeks after there baby is born. Not so much that your prescription can return after birth, but more or less that this still a huge possibility it will continue and change. One week you'll need readers, the next its distance your having issues with.

Mines getting worse too. I was told that it was just part of being pregnant (water retention?) and to wait until after shes born.

My long distance really sucks lately. Especially say if I'm reading my phone then look up.

But I used to get that regularly back in college when I suffered headaches daily.

My midwife did mention yesterday about vision disturbances being a sign of pre emclampsia. Is there any other vision disturbances you're having or just blurry vision?

Sounds like I'm not alone. I've not got any other problems just my vision that's not great anyways, has gotten worse. There's not a huge difference but is noticeable when I'm trying to read the guide on the tele really. I will wait to see what happens once baby is born as only 13 ish weeks to go now, I'm sure I can put up with it until after then.

Me too! I just started noticing it a couple days ago. Hopefully it's not preeclampsia since I'm only 16 weeks. I'm going to bring it up with my midwife just to be sure.

I just got Lasik a year ago and my vision is/was 20/20, so my vision BETTER go back to normal after baby. Otherwise I just wasted some serious cash. lol

It happens to me with every pregnancy. I've very near-sighted, and ironically, my vision gets better when pregnant (just a little bit, but noticeable).

In fact, the first symptom that I was pregnant with my 3rd was my eyes - I went in for a regular eye check and was pretty early (no missed period yet) and the eye doc mentioned how my eyes had gotten better and worse and now better again, and I said the previous improvement was during pregnancy, but I wasn't pregnant now ... not much later I got a bfp!
