Last night my 6 month old was eating a bit of penne pasta and he started panicking, his eyes filled up and his face turned bright red. He was chocking (I think and not gagging) and after hitting his back a few times a piece of pasta finally came up. I got such a fright and am now a bit scared to continue with BLW but I feel it's the best way to introduce food. I tried to keep as calm as possible as I knew he would pick up on my fear but my heart was in my throat. Anyone else had a similar experience and continued with BLW? I think listening to others experiences will help me feel more confident to continue. Thanksx

I had a similar experience yes and it took a good few taps to dislodge the piece and he was sick everywhere with it. Scared me so much. I do still give him bits but am so nervous the whole time and think he may be picking up on it as he's becoming less enthusiastic about the finger foods! I do spoon feed him though too and have done for a while which he is fine with, so I'm not exclusively BLW x

Thank you! I feel it's silly and I guess part of BLW but got such a fright. I haven't seen threads on this forum about that scary part of it. Thanks for sharingx
