bonding experience?

I thought I'd update! I had my son 12 days ago, when they took him out the doctor showed us him for a second, the nurse moved the scale over to my view so I could see him be weighed. Where he was cleaned up and what not I couldn't see but my fiance could and filmed some. It was about 5 minutes later the brought him bundled up to my fiance who held him next to me and I was talking to him and rubbing my fingers on his cheeks try to calm him. After about 10 minutes they moved daddy and baby to recovery while they finished up on me it felt like forever but I think it was about 15 mins. When I got there the nurse bathed him and then helped me to breastfeed I had him from that time on.

Congratulations! :) I'm glad all went well, and that baby was in your arms as soon as possible! I think in this day and age, more and more c-section mommas will tell you that baby is usually right there with mom within an hour of birth or so, given all has gone well, and everyone is healthy.

With my first it was an emergency section, and I was in a lot of pain. Though I was able to see my daughter right away. They let me kiss her, but then they whisked her away. I didn't see her again until I was brought back to my room. Even so, I didn't have any problems bonding with her.

With my second it was a much different, more relaxed experience. I was also a lot calmer as it was planned and I literally felt NO pain. They released one of my arms from the straps and let me "hold" my son. I was able to stroke his cheek, his hair... I was able to kiss him. My husband was able to hold him next to me the entire rest of the operation.

Edit: Just saw the update. CONGRATS!!!
