Hello ladies
It is with great delight that I would like to communicate the birth of Thiago Lucca on march 01 2012 at 11:57am.
Here it is my story. After almost 41 weeks of pregnancy I was so ready to have this baby! So I asked to have an induction sometime this week. They didn't have anything available at first but my doctor's nurse called me on the 29th to let me know that I had a spot available the next day. So hubby and I go happily to the hospital the next day. Had my waters broken by my doctor and as he left the room baby's heartbeat slowed down considerably. The nurses lay me on my side and he's heart came back to a normal range.
So they start me on pitocin and after 2 hours or so the pains were getting really bad so I asked for an epidural. While the anesthesiologist was being called the nurse came in to get me more fluids to prepare for epidural, she then decides to check my cervix to see how dilated I was. And all of a sudden she screams that the baby's cord was collapsing and coming down. She calls another nurse to get an emergency team ready for csection and call my doctor. They carry me out of the room so fast and the wonderful nurse still with her hand inside my cervix trying to keep umbilical cord from coming down first. You can just imagine how petrified and scared I was and so my husband!!! We get to the csection room and there must be like 10 people in there!! My doctor was there too and all I remember was him telling me that he was going to get the baby out as fast as he could and the wonderful nurse said the she could feel my baby's hand by my cervix and that he's heart was beating. They had to give me full anesthesia.
When I woke up I was back in my room and feeling this terrible pain in my lower belly. All I could say is "my belly hurts". My husband said that they were going to give medication and baby was okay
!!! He brought him for me to see him and I couldn't believe how cute he was
. After my belly pain was gone my husband told me that I had a pregnancy complication called vasa previa and they normally just find out that you this very dangerous placental abnormality when you are about to deliver the baby and baby has a high chance of not surviving. But thanks to God, my wonderful nurse, the hospital staff and my doctor they made my miracle baby survive because they act fast enough. If my waters had broken at home my baby would not be alive. You can google and read more about vasa previa. It is kind of complicated to explain.
But anyways he was born in 11 min after they took me to the emergency room. He is almost 7lbs. I think he looks like me
. And we are all so happy!! Everyone calls him the miracle baby at the hospital
.
I will try to post pictures as soon as I can. This was a sad story about to happen but God made it into a happy one
