Born With Collapsed Heart Valve

A family friend had her baby about 4-5 days ago now, at first they thought it was just a basic heart murmer, but have discovered now she has a collaspsed vavle. Shes really struggling, barely breathing on her own and not feeding.

Thats all we know so far, was just wondering if anyone knows someone or has a child whos gone through this before? What happens next? Im assuming an operation but unsure.

I have a freind her in Sheffield her little boy is about 5 moinths old he has same prob but is a happy little boy. she has been told theres nowt they can do as its not life threatening. Joel was 3 months old when the prob was caught he had breathing probs too.

poor little love...I'd assume if the little man is having problems breathing, feeding then they really would have no alternative to operate and probably sooner rahter than later unless he stabilises
