Bottle choices

WE use NUK bottles, which are good for colic to and have a bit on the teat that helps with air in the bottle. They are slighty different teats, which i the main reason we use them because our LO will not touch anything lkeavent, MAM etc.

Fussy.....

I tried the Playtex Ventaire Advanced bottles (I also used the Dr.Brown stage 2 nipples because they fit in there and are virtually the same nipple just different brand) but for whatever reason Ava gagged on the nipple. She'd do fine for her first 3 oz and would start gagging on the nipple her last 2 oz.

But if your baby will take them then I'd suggest using them over the bottles I used because it eliminates ALL air that gets in them, they reduce ear infections, and their curved shape makes it easier for babies to learn how to hold them by their self.

i dont think we have them here? does anyone know?

HAs anyone with the Avent ones think the teats are too big for newborn? Ava seems to gulp it down so fast... but its a newborn teat?

Dr Browns bottles were brilliant, and really helped with DD colic

TT CTN. I tried Avent but my LO did not like it.

Nieve had Boots anti colic bottles, but the big wide ones. Never had any problems. Now she has normal Tesco ones with silicone teats, but she only has them at bed and morning x

We use the Tesco wide neck bottles, the lovely funky pink patterned ones with the wide bottoms and we use Avent teats. So far they seem to be going great :) We originally were using those Breatsflow bottles when I was combination feeding but it took her over an hour to drink 3 ounces, so I switched to Avent.
As for the Tesco bottles, I can fit 5 of them in my Avent steriliser so that's not too bad.
If Evie develops colic, we'll switch to Mam but in the meantime, if it aint broke, dont try and fix it!

used TT for 1st few weeks but the teets always collapsed. so changed to dr browns and they have been great .

We use a mixture of Dr Browns and Tommee Tippee. Ds seems to get on fine with switching between them. We tend to use the TT ones at night, as they have variflow teats which allow him to guzzle at whatever pace he wants - hopefully quicker!

We haven't had any signs of colic, but I have to say that the Dr Browns bottles have a lot of parts (6 altogether!), which is annoying when sterilising (hubby keeps missing bits out, so we have to run the steriliser again), especially as you have to touch the inside components when assembling it. TT teats can be assembled into the screw on ring before sterilising, which means you don't have to touch them again.
