My LO is EBF and has had the odd few bottles and takes them very well. Bedtime and overnight I always feed her off myself, she's only had bottles if I've popped to town in the day for a few hours or whatever. Next weekend I have been invited to one of my Nct friends house for a few drinks just to celebrate the birth of all our little ones. I obviously won't be drinking but I was going to show my face for a bit, but it's at the time that LO goes down - gotta be there 6:30ish and she goes down at 7:30. Tonight I thought we'd have a trial run of hubby putting her down with a bottle of expressed. She was happily suckling away, took 3oz and all of a sudden got very upset. He tried calming her down without the bottle, with the bottle, rocking, dummy, etc, and nothing worked. She wouldn't go back on the bottle without crying so I ended up having to pop her on the boob to calm her down and go to sleep. This now means we are limited to going out for meals etc - I'm feeling ready to leave her a bit longer with my mum etc at night time so we can actually go out for a meal and enjoy ourselves, but now that's not likely to happen if she won't settle down for the night on a bottle. Has anyone got any advice on this? Should we try doing it for a few nights this week or? Advice or tips would be really appreciated!

No advice here. If we ever went out, which was rarely, we just had to do it after LO was down. Even then I was always stressed wondering if she'd wake and be inconsolable without me. Slowly they learn to make bonds with other adults but it is normal for them to only have one primary attachment in the early months.

As your friend is an NCT buddy, could you ask her if you could bring LO and put her down at her house (depending on if there is a safe place/you could bring a moses basket). Or maybe you could baby wear? She may not get to bed exactly on time but you could get a few stress free hours that way?
