Hi all,
Ruby is refusing her bottles! She had an 8oz dreamfeed at 11pm last night, took 4oz (when she normally takes 7-9oz) at 7.30am this morning but is now refusing point blank.

She's just getting over a cold, but even when her cold was at its worst on monday she was taking bottles fine, so I don't think it's that.

We're on the fastest teats and she refuses to drink from a sippy cup. She also refuses to be spoon fed.

I wonder if she's teething? I can't get any teething gel onto her gums, she just clamps her mouth shut.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? Will she let herself starve?? Or will she drink when she's hungry enough?

could be teething.. the only way I can get Billie to open her mouth is to hold her upside down so she laughs! Otherwise I'd have no idea whats going on in there! I don't think she'd let herself starve :hugs: its horrible when they refuse milk. Hope you get to the bottom of it soon x

Thanks! I managed to get her to take 6oz about an hour ago. I think her nose is a bit stuffy still from her cold as she was taking a few sips, then stopping for a breath, then starting drinking again.

Maybe it is her stuffy nose bothering her. She might feel like she can't breathe while drinking a bottle..but she definitely won't let herself starve!

Could be her cold or teething like you say. Molly always refuses bottles when she is teething, she wont starve herself. :hugs:

Could be her stuffy nose,it does make it hard for them or strange as it might sound she might be bored of her bottle so to speak.Mia and a couple of my friends children have all done it and refused the bottle but once the bottle was changed to a new brand they were all fine!!I know it sounds strange when they have been happy for months on the one they are on,do you have a spare other brand bottle you could try her with.x

Twins are starting to refuse bottles,it's like they're hooked on solids lol
they're really cutting down on formula

maybe teething, mine seems to be teething....hands in her mouth all day! crying! wont drink to much either!
