Wow, I haven't been on here FOREVER!!!

Quick question......

Cameron still has about 4 bottles a day (after each meal, then 1 before bed) and we're wanting to switch him over to a sippy cup. I've read that u start with one a day, and slowly keep adding sippy cups, and take away bottles. What bottle is best to start this with?? We're thinking the morning one, but just want some opinions!

We're also slowly changing him over to cow's milk too, so the plan is so measure out his water/formula in the bottle, and just pouring it into the sippy cup with the milk, or is it best to have him TOTALLY on cows milk before using a sippy cup?

He uses sippy cups for water, and drinks from them perfectly, I just think it's going to be weird giving him his milk out of them too.

Thanks so much!

Personally I would leave bedtime and breakfst til last, as these are the ones that tend to be more associated with comfort.

I think you'll find it more practical to use the cows milk in a sippy cup, as you can just pour it straight in. There's no reason not to use formula in there other than it being a faff! Maybe you can push the switchover a bit faster on one of the daytime bottles so you can get started?

Going through this just now with my LO. She only takes 2-3 bottles per day at the moment, and up until now I've been giving her water from her cup and milk from her bottle. She didn't take any milk this morning but took about 5 oz this afternoon (she is wavering at the moment on a 3pm bottle) and I gave her milk tonight in a bottle.

I'm hoping to work towards 3pm, morning and finally night time.

I haven't introduced cows milk yet but was thinking of doing that fairly soon too, tbh I don't think you have to wait till you've done that to get the sippy cup routine established.

Ruby completely refused milk out of all cups that she drank water perfectly from! In the end, what she liked was the Tommee Tippee active straw cup. Once she took milk from it, I just threw all the bottles away full stop.
