Since about 28 weeks I've been getting random pain in my lower back - it's hard to describe correctly, but it's almost like the muscle is tightening and won't release....usually when sitting, and doesn't normally last very long...

Could these be braxton hicks contractions? I don't recall feeling any with my first pregnancy so this is a new thing for me.

I don't think my uterus is tightening as far as I can't feel it...but the pain in my back is enough that I wince everytime it starts up and have to lean over a little until it stops

I get that too. It's more in my middle to lower back. It feels like someone is squeezing my spine really tight for like 15-30 seconds then it eases up. Over time it started to also radiate and wrap around my sides to the front of my bump. But that's how it started for me. So, yes, those are probably contractions for you too!

I'd say yes too. I had nothing at all until i went into labour with my first but had braxton hicks from 30 until 40 weeks with my 2nd.

Absolutely. They're also a sign that you're a bit dehydrated and need to slow down. Drink at least two big glasses of ice water and lay on your left side to see if that'll help ease them off

I'm having them too. I don't know if they're bh or contractions but they hurt. I was crying the other day they hurt so bad. I didn't get them in my back at all in my last labour so it's very strange for me
