hi, my daughter is 7 and has two weetabix for breakfast, she always asks for me but I think that is plenty. I've read elsewhere that people give their two year olds more than I do. For example, toast, fruit four weetabix etc

I feel mean now.

What age are you're kids and what do they have at breakfast.

My boys have up to 3 bowls of cereal or up to 3 wholemeal toast with butter or a mix of these. They can choose which cereal they want (we have about 6 different ones) and each bowl is around 20g. Most of the time they have it with milk but sometimes they want it dry.
Are you concerned that your daughter eats more than her hunger dictates? Is she too heavy for her height? If she is a healthy weight and not prone to overeating, I think giving her a bit more would be perfectly fine.

My Ds is 9 and on a school day will have a glass of milk and 1 & 1/2 slices of toast with butter and marmalade or a small pan au chocolate (he's eating within half an hour of waking) at the weekend he'll still have the milk but will eat a bagel with cheese or egg or a few pan cakes - normally a couple of hours after he's up. As pp mentioned if your DD's weight isn't a problem then I'd be inclined to let her have a bit more - even a slice of toast, you may well find that she prefers to eat in the morning and will not eat as much later in the day. We don't have set meal times in the house, Ds has always been told to eat when he's hungry and stop when he's not, it's worked so far...

My daughters also 7 she eats loads throughout the day but smaller portions spaced out throughout.

Breakfast is usually 2 weetabix

An hour later shell have a yoghurt and some fruit

Lunch is whatever she wants, scrambled egg, sandwich, beans on toast ect.

Between lunch and tea she will pick, maybe more fruit, yoghurts some crisps, cereal bars ect

Tea is a huge meal for her, she eats a bigger dinner than I do!

I dont think it's the quantity of one serving, but the quality of what she eats, my daughter eats me out of house and home and doesn't go longer than an hour without eating something, shes very tall, 99th centile for height and 50th centile for weight. I have no concerns with her :)

Also as pp mentioned, my daughter eats when she feels like it, in the week we have breakfast and tea and the same time due to school and bedtime routines, but on a weekend sometimes she doesn't get out of bed till 11, she likes to chill out on her phone (teenager much?) So she'll have breakfast when she gets up and has her lunch whenever she wants ect, but I always make her eat healthy, she does have some naughties aswel like crisps and cakes but she prefers fruit and yoghurts! She doesn't like chocolate either

My 7 year old is hard to get breakfast in.
Breakfast is an important meal.
I find 2 weetbix is adequate. But if shes hungry I'd give her more. But she rarely is

My 12yr old can eat oatmeal or cereal. My 13yr old is fine with a bagel

DDs are 6 and 3 . They will both have a bowl of cereal each day half full . Sometimes they eat it all other times not . Weekends they will have two pieces of toast each with banana or something similar and juice.

If they want more for breakfast which they rarely do they will just ask . If your DD is asking for more then I would give her more. Just like us sometimes they are more hungry than other times especially if she’s going to school and breakfast has to last her until lunch time. Xx

My 9 year old son has about half a bowlful of cereal about an hour after he gets up - unless its a school day. And then he sometimes has a packet of yogurt fruit flakes or yogurt raisins and a tube yogurt. That seems to satisfy him until snacktime
