My mum had breast cancer last year and her sister a has just been diagnosed. My mums aunt and grandmother died of breast cancer so they want to run some genetic tests.
I went with my mum to see her oncologist about it and he said to me that I should try to breast feed my daughter for a year as it could reduce my risk of breast cancer by a 1/5 ( 4.5% for breastfeeding and 15% for having two babies)
I've looked it up and there is a lot if research to back this up. I know it doesn't sound much but when you're high risk for breast cancer it's pretty good.
Why oh why is this not promoted more?
