Hi ...I am a bit confused about weaning schedule

I am bf Giselle on demand and do not have a feeding schedule down ...she feeds as she wants some times 4 times an hour for 5 min each or for 25 min straight it really depends on her ...

I have been trying to wean her since she turned 6 months old but did not give it much priority just a few teaspoon of pureed fruit /cereal/some veggie here and there after her feeding.

now at 8 and a 1/2 month I would like to put a schedule down but have no clue how to do it...or what feeding to cut I am totally confused.

any on demand bf mum can advice how I should go about this ..

thanks

I started by introducing breakfast at a set(ish) time each morning. I would offer food until he stopped (after we had been going for a couple of weeks not from day 1) and then continue to bf on demand throughout the day. You dont need to cut anything out as your lo will do that themselves when they are ready. When i was happy with how breakfast was going i started on an evening meal. I did these first as i was morelikely to be home around these times as opposed to starting with lunch and never being in to cook anything. Repeat with lunch and then snacks. If you are feeding on demand then you will notice the number of feeds with naturally decrease and you wont have to do a thing.

Breakfast at 10:30 & tea at 5:30 every day. BF tend to fit in around those meals. Usually aim for food 20-40 min after boob.

I offer breakfast at 8, lunch at 12 and tea at 5. So today has gone like this:
5am bf
8am breakfast
9am bf
12pm lunch
2pm bf
then tea at 5 and she'll have her bedtime feed at 6:30
