Breast feeding?

I've been bottle feeding as my milk didn't come in straight away. Woke up this morning and i have to huge babloons on the front of me. They are so heavy and so full. I feel guilty for not breastfeeding her but i just don't know if i could do it.

How has Caitlyn taken to doing both? Does it make her sick?

xx

She's fine with both, although she prefers the bottle. She gets slightly sicky, dribbles down her face, but nothing projectile or anything. She's putting on weight already too so she must be fine. :) If you want to try it, you should!

isnt it the best feeling in the world?!!

I didnt do it for very long (5wks) but loved every minute of it.

Congrats on the BF! It's so lovely! With my DD, I did both for 5-6 months. I was crushed when she refused to latch on but grateful for the time we had BF and the bond we made. We're still thick as thieves :D

Yes it's okay to do both :) Well done for giving breastfeeding a go hun :happydance:

If you did want to switch to breast completely however, if you cut down the bottles and increase the time you put her to the breast, you milk supply will increase and she will soon be satisfied with your milk and your milk alone :D

Just do what you and Caitlyn feel comfy with - what's right for you two, is absolutely right!

That's great you went back to it, well done.

I was nearly at the end of my tether until I had a good chat with my midwife today. I felt that Ruby was so demanding and such an unsettled baby, cause she would only feed for like 10mins then didn't seem to want anymore, I would try and put her down and she would wake up after a while fussing, crying and screaming. I would try and comfort her but couldn't so it would end up that I was feeding her every hour. The problem was although she was getting enough milk cause of her weight gain she wasn't getting enough to keep her satisfied. So today she has fed for her 10 mins then I burp her, change her nappy or whatever to get her to wake up and get her on to the other side and feeds for another 10 mins. What a difference, she has had 2 x 2hr naps and is sleeping again.
I also have a breast feeding support nurse coming to see me on Friday for support.

I hope it works out for you.
