Breast or Bottle?

im wondering how many other teen mums plan to try breast feeding, as people always seen surprised that i plan to try.

hi there, i plan to breast feed to. my friends were shocked as they just assumed id bottlefeed but my fam n fiance were glad i chose to try breastfeeding. i just want wats best and if breast is best that wat he gna get,

im a bit nervous cuz i dont rely want to get my boob out everywhere n anywhere so have got myself a breastpump so i can express into a bottle for wen i go out plus this way oh can help with feeds. but im gna brest feed most of the time.

dont let people tell u wat to do it ur body n ur baby. xxx

my mum is happy and so is my OH, i plan to breast feed unless im really struggling and it brings on my depression. which is unmedicated so i have to stay on top of things. i also plan to express milk for when were out and about.

i think its always worth trying breast feeding, dont mean i look down on girls who dont , i believe it sud be ur on decision but wats the harm in trying. ive bought bottles and that neway just havent bothered to buy milk powder cuz im determined to breastfeed, but i am nervous lol il be stacking up on nipple cream to haha

im planning to breastfeed for the 1st feed and maybe a little while after depends really. because thinking about having to express milk for out and about really doesnt apeall to me, so il probably go onto bottle

I really want to breast feed and after a lot of though, I definitely am going to try. And I also agree x-li-x by buying a breast pump so the OH can help too haha.
I thought the same as you, that others would think it's strange because we're 'so young'... but if a 30 year old mother can do it then why can't us teens?

I definitley will breastfeed. It's healthier, and hey, a lot cheaper! I mean diapers are going to be expensive enough! lol...Is pumping painful? I've seen it done and it doesnt look like that much fun.. And a lot of work for very little milk, but I'm sure it's worth it.

Hey, I gave breastfeeding a go when I had kyle. I lasted 3-4 days..wish I had stuck it out now but I was so paraniod that he wasnt feeding enough as he went from feeding for an hour at time to just feeding 15 mins x

Hey guys didnt want to read and run im still in ttc phase but heard a great quote and thought id share

Breastfeeding may not be best for mum but it certainly is best for baby
Kinda puts things into perspective

Im going to breastfeed, Not sure how long for but defo first few weeks.

I have a young mums midwife and she was very surprised i wanted to do this. She said she doesnt see many young girls who will even give it a try.

breastfeeding for sure, want to make sure baby gets all the goodness, also on a selfish note..helps rid the excess weight quicker apparently. so it's a win win situation!

I'm gonna be bottle feeding.

But it has nothing to do with my age.If I was 10 years older I'd feel the same...

yh i wasnt sure what to do ether but i think that i am going to breastfeed at first and then go on to the bottle.

...but i talked to my mum about it and she said the reason she breastfeed me was because she found it easyer, when i woke up in the night she just has to reach over and feed me then she could put me back with out having to get out of bed, go down staires and warm bottles etc, so she got more sleep. it made me think that i might keep with the beastfeeding but dunno.

its individual choice, i think you just have to do what works for you.

its cool to read that so many of you want to try it, it anoyed me when i read somewhere i forget where that a really small percentage of teen mums try it. it wasnt that a small percentage breast feed it was that there were load of other negative frased things in there as well.
