So i thought id ask this here as you will no more about it..

What Brand pump/pumps did you find the best?

Would you recommend electric or manual?

I have this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-AVENT-ISIS-Electronic-Breast/dp/B000RSLC98

it remembers the pressure you prefer when you do 3 manual pumps so when it goes to automatic the pressure that is comfortable for you is set.

I have the Medela Mini Electric pump -I think it's dead easy to use!

If you are going to express anymore than occasionally I really think you should get an electric breast pump as they are so much easier. I have the Medela Swing - it's not cheap but it's really good and definately worth the money.x

I have a Medela Pump In Style Electric as well as a Mini Medela Electric for travel-I love it!

I have a philips avent and it is really good. I had to take the first one back to where i bought it from as it kept cutting out but the second one is reallly good and i have had no problems with it. the philips avent customer careline is rubbish though.

thanks ladies and yes i intend to express alot since i want Oh to be able to feed baby aswell and if i want to go out for the day just me and Oh who ever is looking after the baby will have food for him with out using formula lol

ive got a medela one that can be plugged into the mains or battery opperated

I express all Alfie's feeds so have hired a medela symphony, which is an electric double pump, it is fab.

I have an electric medela I finally bought last month after several cheaper pumps dying on me. the medela was worth $150 but totally worth it! I love it!

Hi im not really stating what breast pump is best but just listing different types of pump that you can get and how they operate hope it helps you to choose the right one.

Basic types of pumps
Breast pumps can either be battery operated, hand
operated, semi automatic electric, or even self cycling
electric.

Hand pumps
Manual hand pumps are designed to use the strength
of your hand or arm muscles for pumping one breast at
a time. You can also get pumps that will use the leg
and foot muscles for pumping both breasts at one
time. Mothers that with carpal tunnel syndrome may
want to consider using a pump designed for the arm
or leg muscles or even an automatic model.

Battery operated pumps
Pumps with battery operation are the best for women
who have an established supply of milk and want to
pump once or even twice a day. These pumps use
batteries to create suction, minimizing any type of
muscle fatigue. Most battery type pumps are designed
for pumping one breast at a time and are recommended
for occasional usage.

Electric pumps
Even though electric pumps are more efficient than
hand or even battery operated pumps, they also tend
to be more expensive. You can however, rent them if
you need to. Electric pumps can normally plug
directly into an outlet and are designed for pumping
both breasts at a time and even frequent use. Hospital
grade pumps are the most efficient for initiating and
maintaining milk supply, and are available for rent
or purchase.

Thanks and good luck,

I use the Ameda lactaline. This is a really small portable version of the hospital grade ones. It costs £85 but worth it.
