So I am looking to order Tommy Tippee products (bottles, slow/med/fast teats, electric steriliser and milk storage pots).

I was initially looking to just get the Tommy Tippee electric steriliser too, but have read a lot of bad reviews on it. The electric Medela looks like the best one from what i've seen. I'm still debating whether i'd need the double one...

Can I use a different breast pump to the bottles i plan on getting? e.g. Medela breast pump, but Tommy Tippee bottles etc.

Anyone have any experience with the Medela or the Tommy Tippee breast pumps?

Thanks so much xxxx :flower:

I've got a Medela and it's fantastic. They are hospital grade!

You can use a different pump to the bottles xx

have been wondering this myself so will also be interested to see responses....

Me too!

I have also got tomee tipee stuff but read really awful reviews on the breast pump so don't want to waste money on it!

Got the mini electric medela one from last time and its great (if a little noisy! but I could live with that!) Don't know about the electric Tommee Tippee pump but their manual one is rubbish! Soooo tiring to use!

I have a medela electric pump and an avent manual. But haven't used either yet :) x

I want the medela too but its got a hefty price tag at £220.

medela wont work with tommee tippee - but - you get a bottle with the medela so u can just transfer :)

Just dont even think about the manual TT pump....awful!!

I have heard nothing but good things about the Medela Swing.

I posted a similar thread a couple of weeks ago! The general consensus was that the TT bottles probably won't fit the Medela, but you can transfer the milk into the TT bottles, and this is what I plan on doing! x

Hannaaisha the Medela Swing is only(!) £90. Is it the double pump which is £220? x

Sounds good, i can just pour into the TT bottles. It's the double that is around the £200 mark as i've been looking at it. Not too sure if i need it for twins or if the single would suffice

I think I want the twin one cos If I have enough i will give it to hospitals for premature babies.

That's really lovely, i didn't know you could do that.

I don't think i will have any left over though to be honest!

I have had

tommee tippee manual - not good at all

Medela swing - did not like at all. would not recommend. Strange cos loads of people think its great

Nuk electric - this one worked well

BUT

My favourite breast pump ever

Ameda lactaline dual pump. This pump is totally fantastic. Very gentle and great results. Obviously cos its dual you save time. When you first start to use it you can feel its fiddly trying to get both boobs set up but soon its just second nature. It is around £ 100 so is a dual pump for around the same money as the medela single. Great value. It does make a whiring noise which is a bit strange but its no noisier than any electric pump.

Here is a link for it although there are loads of sites you can get it off

I have just got the Medela Swing on high recommendations from a friend who has just had a baby. I was looking at the Tommee Tippee electric one, but everywhere i look it has terrible reviews.

Saw at the weekend that Tesco are having a Baby Event from 9 to 29th September - you never know - you might get a good deal then!

x

I'd say go for medela, it gets amazing reviews. I'm borrowing my friends for the first couple of months to see how I get on with expressing and if I like it I'm going to buy my own. You can use whatever bottles you want.

Oh buggar, Ive bought all tommee tippee including the electric breast pump cos it was half price! My friend who's just had a baby has had no problems with it so I hope I don't either :D

I had the Medela dual electric pump that was in a breifcase like bag. No one would have known what it was. And I didn't find it the least bit nosiy. I loved it. I used it through feeding my last two children. Was defiantely worth the price.
