Breast to Bottle

Can anyone help me please i have been breastfeeding for over 4 months now and would like to introduce formula at bed time to eventually stop breast feeding at about 6 months.

I got a carton of ready made SMA and tried this just now before Lo went bed, well she screwed her face up and just kept spitting it out.

Should i try a different make?

Is there anyone who has gone from breastfeeding to bottle who can please give me any advice

Sorry I cannot offer any advice but will be watching for others advice on your thread as I am in a similar position. Cody has accepted the bottle a couple of times with ready made SMA but has now screwed his face up and won't take it.

My LO hated SMA too. On the odd occasion that he has formula he loves Cow and Gate. He is happy to take it from a NUK bottle.x

Hmm... it wouldn't hurt to try another brand. I went with Aptamil when I switched after 3 months, because I'd read in a few places that it is the closest to breast milk. Another thing you could try would be to express some milk, and maybe mix it half and half with formula. You could gradually decrease the amount of EBM and increase the amount of formula.

I'm sure someone on here has tasted them and said aptamil tastes the most like breast milk!

I went from breast to aptiml & my lo didn't notice any difference so was easy also used tt closer to nature bottles......Also if you get severe breast pains when weaning stick a frozen savoy cabbage leaf into your bra works a treat!

think i will give aptimil a try, i thought about maybe adding breast milk to it. I use the closer to nature bottles and she has had a bottle of breast milk from it before.

I tasted the SMA and to be honest i dont blame her for spitting it out it was rank!!!

I agree! I bought a carton of all 3 and Cow and Gate was the nicest I thought lol!
