Hi
I just gave birth 5 days ago. My daughter nursed like a champ the first 3 days. Latched immediately and I was super happy. But on the 4th day, she started refusing the left breast and today she would not nurse at all. She would try to latch, and then just turn away. Even if she did latch, she would suck once and let it go.
I have a lot of milk and my breasts look big right now. I have noticed that it has made my nipple slightly flatter on one side and completely flat on the other. Could this be a reason for her refusal to latch? I'm sure there are lots of women with flat nipples who nurse successfully?i also noticed her nose was running a teeny bit this morning. But when she sleeps, she breathes through her nose. Could the fact that her nose as running a bit also cause her to not want to nurse at all?
Please let me know if you have any thoughts. I bought nipple shells today..does anyone use those to pop their nipples out? Did it work with your baby?
