My daughter is 10 days old, and my milk came in 5 days ago.

She was born early at 33 weeks so I've been expressing for her to be tube fed so far. Yesterday we started trying to breastfeed and she did amazing! She's managed to have two really good feeds where she didn't need her tube feeds and overnight last night the nurses managed to giver her her full feed from a cup

So far since my milk came in (a little late probably due to the drugs I took to stop labour and a major hemorrhage) I've been able to keep up with Georgia's needs and now I've got a bit of a freezer stash

The thing I'm unsure about is am.i going to end up with a huge oversupply when I get her home and I'm breastfeeding rather than expressing? I'm getting a out 150ml every three hrs at the minute frome expressing but Georgia is only having 60

Also so far my boobs haven't leaked at all, is this because I've been expressing instead of feeding, have I just not got to leaking yet or is leaking less of an issue second time around? With my son I think I stopped leaking around 4 months in

To answer your question about oversupply, your breasts may get engorged if you EBF from the nipple and stop pumping, but soon will regulate by your baby's needs to produce just enough.

But if you want to keep pumping and stash you will have plenty to do that AND feed her from the breast too.

Congratulations on your little girl and I hope she continues to grow quickly Xx

Well, I did, but that may have just been me. My son was born at 33 weeks and I brought in my supply by pump, he wasnt on full breast feeds until nearly 2 weeks old (I quit pumping almost cold turkey). I had moderate oversupply until I got pregnant again (it got better when he started solids). Then I tndem fed, and i had even MORE supply, but I hesitate to call it oversupply as my toddler created quite a demand.

Never had any real problems, just some green poops. My son grew just fine, small but fine (stayed on the growth chart well).

Our Georgia was discharged on day 10 (as you know) and I too had been pumping 3 hourly but was getting over 200 ml each side every time.

Once she came home, yes, I did become very engorged again and I did have to pump a couple of times for comfort but it had pretty much regulated within 48 hours. She was discharged on the Wednesday and I returned the pump on the Monday morning. I still leak daily but that's pretty normal for me when breastfeeding.
