Breastfeeding babys with teeth?

I don't even notice Brenn's teeth unless he is being lazy with his latch and his top teeth will press in. It is more annoying than painful. It does hurt when he bites, but that is rare these days.

oh right just getting a bit nervous, people in our family tend to get there teeth around 6 weeks!

omg i thought babies get teeth at 4 months!!! they get them sooner?!?!?!?!?!?!

hebe doesn't bite. shes had teeth for a while and only ever squeezed down once or twice. :-)

we've had a biting phase, and at first it does hurt. well, hurt isn't the right word, more discomfort does make you go ouch tho! I've been pulling her into the breast when she bites down to get her to pull away for breath which seems to be working.

Caitlyn went through a biting stage but it only lasted a few days. It hurt, I won't lie, but I'm so glad I preserved. Apart from the odd nip (which are hardly painful atall,) we have had no more pain atall.

Poppy has bitten me half a dozen or so times and it did hurt me, I cried out. But it's very rare and I think I scared her off doing it with my yelping!

I could never feel their bottom teeth because if they are latched correctly their tongue covers them. But when they got their top teeth it did rub and it took a week or 2 to get used to it. It was sore, but it really didn't hurt, I guess it was more uncomfortable than painful. But we did have some tmes he bit..that does hurt, but it hurts before they get teeth and do it too. But we got that stopped pretty quickly, thankfully.

I hardly notice at all, Tabitha got teeth quite early but apart from one feed where she kept biting its been fine :)

Nope fed 3 babies with teeth up to now and it doesn't hurt....unless they actually bite you:dohh:. Mine all went through a biting stage unfortunately, just push the baby's face into the breast and they let go with their teeth to breathe (does that make sense?), if you pull baby away that hurts more:cry:

Thanks Hevz - great tip!! Elliot is teething, don't think it'll be long til his teeth appear x
