The hospital I'm delivering at offers a breastfeeding class for expectant moms. It says to bring someone for support... not specifying if that should be your partner or what.

So I was thinking I would bring my husband so he can understand what I'll be doing and be able to support me better...but would that be weird? A bunch of pregnant women learning to breastfeed with my husband in there? Or do people typically take their husband?

Otherwise I could take my mom, but we aren't super close and she's never breastfed so I feel like that may be even more awkward.

What do ya think???

DH came to my class, as did the other ladies' partners. I guess that's probably what they are expecting, but are being inclusive of anyone who hasn't got a partner, or who will get most of their support from someone else.

My DH went with me and a lot of of husbands were there too. I think it was nice for him to come because he gets to see how hard bf can be. The LC that led the class had a lot of useful info on how to be a supporting partner during bf. I'm glad my DH went. I was going to bring my MIL, but she was not able to make it.

Yes its usual to take ur partner as they need to know how to support u in the early weeks of bf
