I'm thinking of buying one, but since we don't have loads of cash, i don't want to waste my money. I plan to bfeed for at least another year, so if it's a good one it will get loads of use.
So, which one do you have?? Was it a good buy?? How much??, and where did you get it from??
Thanks in advance. xxx :)

I bought one before christmas - mostly because the in-laws were staying and I didn't want to spend the whole time in my room! It was a godsend. I have also used it when at friends. I have to say though, I'm not sure about using it in public. I just think it brings more attention than a muslin. It is quite good if you have a wriggly baby though - saves any embarrassing accidental moments!!
If you're short of money, just make your own. it's just a square of meterial with a strap at the top. Or, you can buy some clips - then just attach a muslin.
Try this site for ideas:

Definitely worth buying!!! I don't know what I would have done without mine, especially once Sam started getting distracted by everything going on around him! I can't remember the name of the shop I got mine from (found it on ebay) but it was like these:

If you're not too bothered about the fixed bit in the neck or if you're good enough at sewing to put one in you could make one yourself quite easily if you don't want to spend the money x

I never knew they existed lol. I had a look at the site KAT added and they look fab. I just used a shawl over one shoulder and over Grace to cover up in public and it worked fine. It's upto you if you want to use one or like KAT suggested you could make one yourself and save the extra money xxx

i brought a massive long wide cotton scarf from primark for 2.50 but she goes mad when i cover her up lol

Or just buy a regular poncho and slip it on with baby under it. Get a light weight one in a natural fibre though. Dripping with sweat whilst feeding is not a good look!

I got one off ebay and I love it. I haven't used it yet in public but it's great when we have mates round and I need to feed Jay :) I think it worked out about £12 incl postage.

xx

I bought one and have used it twice, for me it was too much faffing around trying to keep it in place if her arms are flaying around and then i got all flustered and hot. Personally if you can try manage without see how you get on, often i just use her bib to cover any parts that might be a bit exposed.

Or i wear 2 tops one of which i pull up and the other i pull down.

For me definetely worth it! I thought that it'll be cheaper to buy breastfeeding cover than breastfeeding clothes. As I can still wear my everyday clothes and just use this cover. Plus I feel more private using cover than breastfeeding clothes.
And yes, like others say - u can easily do it by urself.

Wish u to make right choice!

I got the strap which you can attach to a muslin square so I didn't have another thing to carry around in my change bag. It was from the website that XKatX mentions above! Cheaper than the cover and does the job!

Thanks for all the replies!! Making one is out of the question, i'm crap with owt like that. I think i may have to shop around, it's just i can't decide on a butterfly one, or a basic one. :)

I have the clips used on the breastfeeding buddy on the site XkatX mentioned as I used to make dummy holders to sell on ebay. I'll make you a strap if you like out of ribbon so you can try before you go spending money on covers etc.

I had a cover which I used all the time and I've even let friend borrow it when they have had their little ones. Can't sell you mine though as I'm saving it for the next one.

Let me know if you want the strap making.

the first one i bought was rubbish the second one was better but honestly if you are tight on cash just use a white muslin it works fine or a thin-ish blanket. sometime it works even better than the covers.

I normally do use muslins, but i find they fall down alot. I flashed an entire boob at someone the other day cause the blanket fell down, and seth un-latched, so they saw it all.lol
