Breastfeeding: Is lidocaine safe?

Hi! My 6 month old is EBF (he wouldn't take a bottle if he HAD to!). I've a place on my chest that has to be looked at by a dermatologist. I'm concerned she may want to biopsy it, which will require a lidocaine injection. Does anyone know what the literature says about the use of lidocaine and it's implications on breastfeeding? Will it pass through my milk? Any information is appreciated!
