I've been BF for 10 weeks now, for the past 7 weeks I've been experiencing pain in my knees. I haven't 'done' anything to them & never had any pain in my knees before

I've been googling (rather than going to the GP :dohh:) to try and work out what's going on with them & came accross an old forum where ladies were discussing that whilst nursing they had lots of pains in their joints as you still have the pregnancy hormones whilst you continue to BF?

Is this true?

My knees never hurt when pregnant, so don't know if the pain is down to BF. Anyone else had joint pains whilst BF?

TIA :flower:

My knees never hurt when pregnant, but after I had my daughter they were really sore for a few months, painful to kneel while changing her etc, and hard to get up as well! I don't know if I noticed it immediately after I had her either. I had a lot of fluid retention, I wonder if it has something to do with all that fluid draining away....? It went away anyway, I didnt attribute it to breastfeeding, partially because my friend who ff and had a baby at the same time had the same problem. My knees are fine now and we're still bf. x

how odd! My knees have been terrible since having lo! My doc suggested arthritis though x

I have rheumatoid arthritis which went into remission while pregnant but lately I have been aching like crazy at night :( wonder if it has something to do with breast feeding?

it will take a good few months for the hormones to settle down my spd didnt go away properly for 3 months after giving birth to EJ caus the hormone levels were still there and high enough to caus problems
