Hi just wanted to ask a question to all breastfeeding mums (or anyone really!)

My friends baby girl is 2 weeks old and she has been breastfeeding well, however she has found a lump in her right breast so now has to go for a scan. Was just wondering if this can be normal or anything to do with breastfeeding?? sorry may seem like a stupid question but she is beside herself with worry!

i dont no as not had a baby as of yest but could it be tissue or muscle build up ?

It could be a blocked duct perhaps - but they tend to be very tender to touch and can be quite warm. My boobs can be lumpy, esopecially if I am engorged but this goes when she is feeding.

Awww Steph........ Big hugs to your friend :D

Thanks for the replys, she is having her scan tomorrow.

Just to let you know, she had her scan and its nothing serious, they are re-scanning at a later date though just to keep an eye on it! :)
