My baby is 6 months this month and I am going to introduce solids. Have been exclusively breast feeding since day one and really want to continue to do so. Just wondering how you introduced solids and what sort of feeding schedule you kept to maintain a healthy flow of milk?

started giving lo little tastes of food rom 4 months then got more into it at just before 6 months.
Gave baby porridge mixed with bmilk an hour after first feed, did that for few weeks then introduced some veggies for 'dinner'. Kept bfeeds as usual and eventually fitted food in between bf so lo was having something every 2 hours.

I offered solids 30 mins post feed.... I started at 6 months. I did whatever time of day worked for that day the first 2 weeks... Then breakfast and dinner ( I felt since food was still fun in the early stages and she still breastfed loads, I didn't want to have to be home for lunch always)... By 8 months she was on 3 meals a day... And it looked like this ; wake up, boob, breakfast, nap, boob, lunch, boob, nap, boob, dinner, boob, bed

At 8.5 months for personal reasons introduced formula and gradually she dropped to 4 milk feeds, and it looks like this now at 10.5 months ( since about 9.5 months): wake up,boob, breakfast, nap, formula, lunch, nap, formula, dinner, boob, bed

Hope this helps....
