2016: I think your pic is my fav one on here! What a beautiful boy you have...and his fav position must have melted your heart! how long has his nursing strike lasted? Is he self weaning?

Thank you Ohmy4...that means alot. I did love feeding him like that.

He has been on strike during the day for 2 months now. I pump pretty much everything he eats during the day. He still has about 4 feeds every night from the boob too. At one point he went on total strike for 48 hours and then jsut as suddnely refused bottles and insited on boobie for the next 24 hours and then back to his normal daytime = bottles, nightime = boobie routine. I don't think he is self weaning I am pretty sure he is just too nosey to want to feed from me during the day - it's even a battle to get him to drink a bottle I've now realised as he always wants to be on the go and looking around. Even if I take him into a dark/quiet room he can't switch off. He is also not willing to wait for my let down which takes about 30 seconds...even if I express until the letdown happens before latching him, sometimes even a few seconds delay will put him off. I still really enjoy our nightime cuddles though.
I am now going to start trying to give him more and more of his daytime milk out a cup but I am now having trouble expressing due to mastitis so it's getting tougher and tougher to carry on. I am very determined though!
