Everyone is different love, so just give it a try. I never had any sorness or cracking or pain.

Totally untrue, hun! Breastfeeding can be very painful for some women, but not all, and you won't know until you try.

All mothers can breastfeed - what do you think happened before there was any formula milk (pre-50's)? lol

If you want to give it a go, GO FOR IT! We'll all be here to answer any questions and offer support. You should look into breastfeeding support services near you, too - most hospitals have a 'breastfeeding cafe' where you can go for support and to meet other breastfeeding mum's near you. [edit: You can attend these when you are pregnant, too - you'll get a chance to chat with the other breastfeeding mothers, to get a better idea of what to expect )

If you do get pain when you try it, it could be because you are latching baby on incorrectly, so do ask for help from a midwife / nurse when you are in the hospital, who can show you how to latch baby on better.

I am a first-time mum and loving breastfeeding my daughter. Have never had any pain or anything. The only issues I had with breastfeeding were that we were in special care to begin with and the doctors seemed quite keen to put her on the bottle! Thank goodness I knew that that would have impacted her demand on my milk flow, and I didn't listen! It was also difficult because she was so teeny, though; her mouth didn't seem big enough for my seemingly massive nipple! It was also hard because she was in an incubator so I couldn't feed her on demand, as I should have liked to do.

I have some somewhere of me with both mine but i only breastfed for 1 week with leigha and then 4 weeks with Tom.
Wish i could have gone longer, but i never got told how to let them latch on properly as my midwifes were always too flipping busy or stressy...so i did my best, but it was painful due to lack of knowledge...

I haven't had any pain or cracking ever. I'm a first time mom. Make sure you have a visit with a lactation consultant.

I had Breast reduction Surgery 2 years ago and my breast did not produce , Grow or so anything during pregnancy so it was bottle feeding for us all the way, Although I did know this before I had my surgery and I was fine with it then, My chest was so big it was important to have the surgery.
Your pics are wonderful ladies! I see nothing wrong with taking them and sharing them with the kids when they are older so natural and so amazing!

Our pomeranian pup Ms. Penny is similarly helpful, though she likes to step on baby or sit on her head.

I tell people she's either jealous or maternally ******ed.
