Breastfeeding = sleeptime

Every time I breastfeed my baby he falls asleep, literally everytime. I have never really asked anyone else if this happens to them so I thought I would ask the forum. If so how long did this last for?

Alex always falls asleep, i play with his feet to wake him a bit. Cant say how long it lasts for, were only a month in with bfing.

I try winding Isobelle and just talking to her sitting her up she looks very unimpressed but it works

This is very normal. BFing releases oxytocin making both mum and baby sleepy. Jack is starting to stay awake after feeds more now, during the day anyway, at night we keep the room dark and quiet so he knows it's still sleep time. During the day he'll usually doze for a few minutes then wake up again.

It is an age thing for your LOs right now, they do grow out of it. Brenn only falls asleep on the boob at night, and occasionally if I time it right for his naps. Most of the time he feeds then is off to play.
