I recently found out that we're expecting another little one and went to see my doctor yesterday. She asked how many times I still nurse valerie a day and I told her two, sometimes three times a day. She said that ideally they would like me to only nurse her once a day (probably in the evenings). Why is this? Has anyone successfully nursed another child while being pregnant? Don't get me wrong, we were planning on starting to wean her anyway, because I'm not going to be tandem nursing. But I just wondered why the doctor was pushing it?

i am still breastfeeding my lo she is 14 months old and was wondering if i could still bf while ttc. erm i would ask the national breastfeeding people
sorry couldn't be more helpful

There's nothing wrong with BF while you are pregnant unless you have a history of pre-term labour. Many people are just outdated in their views.

I agree with Marley. You had a totally normal pregnancy the first time and there is no reason to assume this one will be any different. Pediatricians are not trained when it comes to BFing. I think most doctors get about a day of training and that is it. It takes an proper LC about 2-4 years to get their certification. Anyway, nurse as you want to. If you feel it is causing a problem with your pregnancy, then cut back or stop.

I'll be continuing too. :)

I found this recently which was interesting and doesnt mention stopping or cutting down.

Congrats!

Thank you everyone for your replies!! I think I'll go ahead and continue unless there becomes a problem! :)
