Breatfeeding after Nipple Piercings

Hi ladies,
Just popped in for some advice really. Has anyone successfully breastfed after having nipple piercings? I heard somewhere that if you've had them there's less chance that you can breast feed. Is this true? Or have you done it?

I hope that's not the case because I've had both nipples pierced and if and when a bub comes along I hope to breastfeed. I've certainly not heard it's the case though. I know it can be a problem if you've had implants or breast augmentation.

Ive had both of mine pierced. I took them out through pregnancy but never had any problems. They healed very quickly. One of them is even scared because I had an accident but that was fine too.

It should be fine. Just make sure you take out the jewellery when feeding!

I asked this when I was preg as I was worried that I wouldnt be able to, but I'm fine, my boobie juice does leak out of side of the piercing, but thats fine as its not loads and only when my actual nipple is leaking as well x

Personally, I could not breastfeed out of my one breast because of my nipple being blocked from scar tissue. I haven't come across anyone else on here having this problem though. I had milk come out but it was very slow and hardly any could make it's way out causing all sorts of problems in that boob, so I quit after 2 weeks.

i took mine out when i was pg with dd and she breastfed fine! it healed really quick
