Is it ok to use a nebulizer treatment? Ive had a bad cold and it went straight to my lungs and my doctors office isnt open. Does anyone know if its ok? Its just albuterol sulfate, and my inhalor isnt working well.

I am 22 weeks and i have chronic asthma i take albuterol and iprotroprian in my breathing machine. The OB and my regular doctor said they was ok to take.. I take my machine 3 times a day.. and my little one is fine

Look it up on Drugs.com or SafeFetus to be sure of what class it is and what effects it could have. Otherwise, call your OB! Especially if it's an emergency because you can't breathe, whomever is on call should definitely be able to tell you right away.

Safe! I have asthma and thats what I use in both a neb. and inhaler. I only used provental while pregnant but thats just because I never had any severe asthma issues while pregnant. My mother however used it several times with me and my sister.. we never had any issues from it.

If you need it, it's safe. I fortunately don't usually need a nebulizer, just my inhaler, but the medicine is pretty much the same. I know plenty of people who've used nebulizers during pregnancy. But more importantly, it's better to do whatever you have to do to take care of yourself. A bad chest infection would be more dangerous during pregnancy than treating it, whatever the medicine. But yes, if it's just albuterol anyway, it's definitely safe.
