Hi girls. Just wondering if anyone is in the same position as me (well, I guess I'm wondering if your baby is in the same position as mine :haha:) and turned before your delivery. He is frank breech and has been since the beginning. I do not want a C-section, and I also do not want external cephalic version (ECV).

Did your baby turn on its own? Did you do any exercises or stretches or anything else to help?

I know lots of midwives and doctors will say that he still has plenty of time to turn, and not to worry about it... but I'm worried. And he's been breech every single time I get a scan with the fetal specialist unit.

My first was breech all the way through pregnancy right up until about 33 weeks. I followed a lot of the advice on Spinning Babies website - crawling on all fours, sitting forwards, no slouching etc.

My second flipped breech somewhere around 36 weeks. Was booked for ECV at 38 weeks but luckily after lots of spinning babies techniques and reflexology he turned on his own.

I never felt a thing when either of them turned! Despite midwives and doctors telling me that I would definitely feel it if they did.

Most babies will turn on their own given time, the actual percentage of babies who are still breech by due date is very, very small.

Good luck!

My second and this baby were a mix of breech and transverse, my son up to week 36 and this one currently at 33+5. Last time I saw a homeopath who gave me drops and an acupuncturist for moxibustion and my son did turn for a beautiful home birth. I started moxibustion yesterday to get this one going, but who knows! I didn't feel my son turn but this ones movements are much less comfortable for me so I might know about it.

Do what you can, try anything but if it comes to ECV / section, don't worry - it's just how it'll have to be :)

Walking my baby was breech till 36 weeks I did lots of walking and was out walking when she turned ! She did make me sick turning at 36 weeks there's not a lot of room for somersaults but she turned she's now fully engaged and a day overdue !
Don't worry too much yet try some walking and look on the spinning babies website too some good info and advice on there :)

Try a birthing ball. Gentle bouncing and circling your hips. Rocking backwards and forwards.... leaning over the ball on your knees and rock your hips etc.

i have been doing the above and im sure shes dropped xx

Thanks for the advice, girls. I've been thinking about getting a birthing ball anyway. Guess I should stop putting it off. ;)
