Britax B-Safe vs Chicco Keyfit 30 Carseats

I just skimmed through the replies and wanted to add:

I was also heavily researching a car seat a while back and went with the Britax B-Safe. I could give you a million reasons why but I really just knew it was one of the best. I posted a pic of it on Facebook and a friend of mine said she also used the Britax brand with her daughter from birth until now, she's 2. She said they are expensive and might weigh a little more (talking about the convertible seat for her daughter) but for the safety, they're worth it.

Fast forward 2 weeks and my friend was in a rollover accident where her car flipped down an embankment twice and come to rest on its side. It killed my friend, 26 but her daughter, 2 - wasn't injured at all. *This happened last week.

I'm sure Chicco is a safe brand too and as long as all car seats are installed and used properly, they will do their job - but for me, it's Britax all the way.

I chose the Chicco Keyfit 30 carseat with the Baby Jogger City Mini GT stroller with the adapter. I got the Chicco based on reviews I read online, Consumer Reports recommended it, and in the store it was easy to remove from the base and snap back on. It also felt very sturdy to me compared to some of the other seats. I went to Buy Buy Baby and they showed me how the Chicco fits on the City Mini adapter and it is about as perfect as it can get. I can't wait to use them with my little one!

I have a Graco infant seat (that went along with a stroller/travel system), and in retrospect, I wish I would have gotten a Chicco Keyfit for the infant seat. With baby #2, I'll also be using the Graco, as it's in great shape, and not expired. However, now that baby #1 is older and is in a convertible carseat, I'd say hands-down YES to a Britax. We have the Britax Marathon G-3, and it's wonderful.

I honestly don't think you can lose with either brand, really.
