Can you use this for a newborn without the carry-cot? ie seat unit only?
I know that a lot of buggy seats are 6mth plus?

I'd say yes - I have the apple which looks like its a simular design and we didn't buy the carrycot although have to say I regret it a little! It depends on baby and most mums say their babies grow out of carrycots & moses baskets quickly where as Caitlin really had use of her moses (although had 2 and one was bigger so worth looking out for) therefore I think she'd have made use for the carrycot!

Often when we went out because we don't drive we'd use the carseat on the frame anyway depending on where and what kind of bus we got (pra friendly etc).
