Hi

My girl cannot sit on her own and I am contemplating buying her a bumbo seat to make her life easier as she is desperate to sit and play and gets frustrated by falling and wont let me hold her either!

She is a big baby so I am wondering if it will be wasted cash right now. Up to how many kgs you can use this? did you find that it fitted your baby up to a specific age?

Any advise would be appreciated, as they are expensive things and I really dont want ot waste any money if not suitable

Many thanks

Alyssa can still fit in hers now at almost 17 months old but figured out how to get out of it when she was 7 months old or so. Have a look on eBay; got ours for a fiver xx

I wouldn't pay for a new one, Reggie climbed out at 5 months so for us it was a huge waste of money!!

I'd say for as long as they can fit in it.

i was looking for a used one they go for over 17 pounds on ebay! Anna, what a good deal you got!

Ours was a waste of money, Thomas managed to get out of it within about three weeks. He never really liked it much anyway. Ditto the jumperoo - although he can't get out of that! He just doesn't like being confined much. So it depends on your baby I think.

We just lucked out - it was local to us and collection only.... so no one was interested

Keep hunting - took us a while to find it! xx

my lo finds the bumbo too restricting and can nearly get out of it, she loves jumperoo though!

Mothercare sell a really nice ring, the ring supports them before they can sit and it opens up for older babies. This link shows an example but there are others and cheaper

I paid £3 for mine from a bootsale because I wasnt sure how he would react to it, he likes it enough for about 15 mins then gets ratty that hes not getting very far :) only real problem we have with it is its rather easy to get his bum and legs stuck in it, if you pick him up it comes with him and you have to tug a bit :)

I wouldn't bother now hun, she probably won't be comfortable and it doesn't help them learn to sit on their own as it doesn't help their balance. I used to sit behind Brady on the floor with my legs out so he didn't actually fall. Give it a few weeks, I'm sure shell get it soon.

Megan used to try to hard to get out of it - so I didnt feel comfortable leaving her in it unless I was right with her. She never really liked it. About a month ago she stopped fitting well in it- her thighs were too big and she cried when I tried to get her out (her thighs were stuck). She was 17 lbs then.
