Bump Buddies??

I just have to ask, what are they?
I've seen many threads and signatures mentioning them and I'm very intrigued.
I've tried looking for a post explaining what a bump buddy is but I've had no luck in finding one. Could someone please explain to me what a Bump Buddy is, I feel so silly asking.

It's someone you like 'buddy up' with who may be due around the same time as you... And you may talk/ compare syptoms etc... And then you may have one to update for you when your in labour like a text buddy who lives in the same country as you so you can text them x

someone who will update for you if you go into labor
someone who you talk to a lot, have close due dates to (not always) etc.
