They will probably try medication first! Try not to worry about it; anxiety is the worst thing for blood pressure. Mine has been so high lately just because it's getting closer to the time and i'm getting anxious...i'm talking 160/110 at one point. It went down within the hour when the midwife made me feel better at the hospital...all the way down to 130/88 so shows how much your state of mind can influence blood pressure! Mine does go up when I see the blood pressure machine too: white coat syndrome!
Try to concentrate on your breathing (don't be taking really big breaths in when they take it, etc, or little shallow breaths). If it's high at the beginning of your appointment, ask your dr if they can take it closer to the end when you;re feeling a little more relaxed.
Good luck x

Thanks this makes me feel better. Do you think theyd try medication this far along? Our due dates are both close and i know for me my LO is due in a week

Yea, at least here in the UK they would as I was told they wouldn't keep me in. I'm getting a c section in 2 days anyway but this was only last week when I was being sent back and forward to the hospital because of my blood pressure. As long as you don't have protein in your urine and your bloods come back fine they seem not to worry so much.
Have you been hooked up to the machine that tests your blood pressure every 10 mins or so?
Also, I think here they will induce you earlier rather than give you a c section but I guess every case is different. Chances are you wont need one though! If I even think about blood pressure I can feel my pulse rate going up, it's ridiculous!
Drink lots of water and try listen to relaxing music; youtube have some relaxation stuff. It's pretty normal for your blood pressure to go up close to the end of pregnancy and the worst thing you can do is worry about it so stay positive :) x

My blood pressure went through the roof when I was 10 days overdue. They gave me medication to bring it down and tried to induce me straight away. It did end in a section but not because of my bp x
