hi all. just had a quick questoin. I had my c section about 10 days ago, had a beautiful baby girl. Im still not 100 % feeling myself. especially the swelling. I still have swelling in my hands and feet. My fingers are still really tingly making it hard to type this! My scar is healing nicely, I am suffering from sever post-pardon and the after symptoms of the c section isnt really helping. Anyway, just wanted to know when I should start to feel normal again? such as when will swelling go down? is this normal for me to be swollen still? Thanks!

It varies from person to person. It took me around 3 weeks to feel more like myself. I was in lots of pain for about a week. But after then it gradually became better. I am now 3 months pp and I have felt myself for ages now. I still get the odd ache and pain around the scar area, especially when my little missy kicks me there when I'm changing her!! But overall I feel fine :)

It def depends person to person, I am 6 weeks pp & feeling pretty normal. Scar is healing nicely, bleeding has thankfully stopped too. I have my 6 week appt with the dr.

Are you taking any additional meds for the post p? That could maybe be having an effect on your fingers & toes?

Hey im wondering the same thing. Had a csection a week ago tomorrow. Was very disappointed by the whole experience and the pain of recovery makes it worse. Baby blues set in big time yesterday. Hope it passes soon. Worried it wont.

No one told me recovery wud be so painful and i stupidly didnt realise. Also trying to breastfeed and struggling with latching.

I hope i never have another csection!

C-Sections are not nice :( t annoys me when you hear people saying it's the easy option - it's not! have experienced natural labour and a section, and the natural labour (despite it being traumatic due to my baby being stillborn and her getting stuck because of her size) was still far easier physically than my section. Recovery is awful.xx

It definitely varies as others have stated. For me, I had the baby blues also and that lasted probably two weeks after having my LO and then I was pretty much back to "normal" other than never getting any sleep, constantly being on the go, etc (everything associated with having a newborn). I don't remember being too swollen from the c-section, but the pregnancy and I felt like that went away probably 2-3 weeks after my LO was born. The area where my scar was, was completely numb for a year after having my LO and there's still areas where I can't feel if I touch it. It's really strange, but very common with c-sections.
