Does anyones smell?? i know disgusting but where it is its giving off a smell and its not exactly pleasant! Is this normal ??

I'm not sure but that doesn't sound normal. Have you checked for infection?

No, never happened to me with my first two C-sections. Best to get it checked hon in case there is an infection.

:hugs:

Your scar shouldn't smell. What does it look like? If there is any kind of discharge and it smells would indicate an infection.

I have had it for ahwile i think there is something like an infection as when i touch it sometimes its wet?? I have had this for awhile thinking it was fine cos the scar looks fine, although there is one bit where the stitch looks like its coming out??

I have a docters appoinment on the 27th May is this too late to be checked out ??

i've had 2 sections and never experienced what you are describing. I would get it checked as soon as possible. i'm no healthcare professional but it sounds like an infection to me. seek help. Good Luck!

I would get it checked out ASAP! I had a c-section - nothing like this happened. I don't think you should wait, an infection could get serious. :hugs:

Im getting worried now will book an appoinment for tomorrow then , it looks fine though which is the wierd thing about it...

Will update tomorrow when i find out what it is!

Just rang and i cant get an appoinment till next week which i have one booked. TBH i think its just sweat thats under there and making it smell on because i have a large *flap* as they call it. Ill just wait till i have my appoinment as there is no other way i can get in.

Im not running a fever, i feel fine and have looked up on net and have heard of it smelling abit due from sweat .. yuk i know. I cant make walk in appoinments early in morning cos of it being so hectic with two little ones at the mo but OH will come with me next week as i have to register Ellas birth so he has day off. Its been like this for a week or more, hasnt changed. DOesnt look infected iehter.

Ill update next week :)

Hope it's not hun! Sounds like you'll be fine, but best to get it checked out anyhow! :hugs:

I had an infection on my scar and it would probably be sore if it was infected. When the infection had cleared up, I still had that kind of smell that you're talking about, which was just from the scar being damp. The best thing I found was to use a hair dryer on the scar - it's the best way of keeping it dry and won't irritate your scar cos nothing's touching it. You might have to do it a couple of times a day, but it does keep it dry really well.

I have a c-section scar and mine got infected - nothing else would have given it away (no temperature or anything) but it was a bit oozy and did smell a bit too (sorry if TMI!). It wasn't a sweaty smell... The oozing was because the stitches were disolving before the scar had healed. It was a bit sore, but I put that down to the fact that I'd just given birth.

My health visitor gave me a week's worth of penicillin and it seems to be clearing up.

If I were you I'd get it checked out sooner rather than later (perhaps of you tell them why you need the appointment you can get one sooner?). The treatment has been really easy and its nice to have the worry removed.

I'm also breast feeding and although they said the pills might make the LO a bit unsettled it really hasn't made much difference at all.

Hope all goes well...

Turns out it was infected , got givin some antibiotics so should clear up after the course :)

I had a wound infection with my scar, it did smell, and stuff did come out, but it hurt also

p/s mine was opened w/gase for 6 weeks! really sucked!
