Hi ladies :hi:

Just looking for a bit of advice really as I'm not really sure what to do...
Wednesday last week I had a bleed which came as a gush out of nowhere, have not had a single bit of spotting all pregnancy. So of course panic ensued and we rushed over to the hospital as I'd not felt baby kick etc that morning. They were really great, was seen quickly and had examination, scan etc. Doctor said I must have bled quite a bit but they could not see any active source of bleeding and that it looked to be settling down. They talked about keeping me in for the night but it was quite early in the day and they were happy with scan and baby so they let me go home.

The thing is, it hasn't really stopped since. The following couple of days it tapered off to redish brown and then stopped, only to return every day/2nd day. TMI but the spotting was brown up until this Tuesday and then turned red again, nothing yesterday then a lot of brown spotting again today. It seems to disappear as quick as it appears, so strange.

So.... my question is do I call them again to be safe as it is 8 days later or do I kind of leave it and see what happens as they already checked and can't see where it's coming from? Baby is kicking away so I'm sure he's fine...

I do have low lying placenta which she spoke about but they said they don't really worry about placenta preavia until 34 weeks + or so

Sorry for the rant, any advice appreciated! :flower:

Hi, how far along are you? I would suggest going back and getting checked out again. It's better to be safe than sorry. Hope all is ok x

I would call or go in. Any type of bleeding my midwife and docs want to know about.

I agree give them a call and express your concerns and stress you want to be checked over again. Good luckx

I have heard of low lying placentas causing bleeding. I had bleeding last week, which included a gush, I was examined and was found to have cervical erosion.

I would get checked out again, just to put your mind at rest. xx

I would call either the hospital or your midwife just to be safe :hugs:

My mom had heavy bleeding during her pregnancy with my brother due to low lying placenta. It did eventually move and stop.

Thanks ladies, it's so helpful to get other opinions! I called the maternity unit and they advised me to call in to GP rather than go all the way over. So currently in GP waiting room waiting to be seen :thumbup:

I hope the GP refers you to the hospital just so you can be checked over by them and your mind can be put at easex

I was indeed sent over! 4 hours waiting in A&E but got checked over and everything is good so at least I can relax a bit now :) thanks all! :flower;

I'm not saying this to panic you but I had placenta previa with my ds3 and was totally naive about it. I was further along than you - 36 weeks - but suddenly started bleeding and they couldn't stop it do I ended up with an emergency c section, I definitely wouldn't ignore any bleeding and get it checked out even if you feel like your being a pain.

So glad everything's ok. It's always worth getting checked out x
