1 - Does it hurt when its going in?
No, they numb the spot with a shot before they put in the cathider and the needle does not stay in your back
2 - How late in labour will they give it to you?
It was 2 hours in but labor for me was only 3 hours. Different doctors have different policiesMy doc would let you have it at 1cm if you wanted but others you have to wait to 3 and I know one lady that had to wait til 6cm. You should check with the doctor you have.
3 - How effective did you think it was?
Very, all I felt a was pressure and I could still push effectively (pushing only lasted for me 5 minutes or less)
4 - How long after you gave birth could you start moving again?
I could always move my legs on my own. the pain was just gone I just couldn't walk but I'd say maybe 2 to 4 hours after that I could walk.
5 - Would you recommend?
