Calpol not working?

Hi guys. DS (6 yrs old) has woken up from a nap and his fever was 38.4. I gave him 6+ calpol over an hr ago and it's only dropped to 38.2, he seems ok in himself and is not in any pain nor does he feel unwell, he is coughing quite alot (I know this is his asthma) I am obviously going to keep an eye on him and call NHS direct if it does not improve, just wonderin if anyone else has ever had Calpol not work?

keep going with it sometimes for me it only works after they have had a few doses

its ok if you get really worried or he gets worse ring 111 i hate it when kids are ill

Thanks hun woke up this morning thermometer still red but its dropped to 37.7 xx
