My baby girl arrived July 17, 2012 at 8:43pm. Weighing in at 7lb 9oz. 20 3/4 inches long.
Through the whole pregnancy I was measuring "small", by about 4-6cm. I had numerous ultrasounds, even one at 38 1/2 weeks. All stated that baby was only going to be about 6 - 6.5 lbs. Boy was I shocked when my almost 8lb baby was born!!
The morning of her birth, my day started out as normal. I got up, took a shower, got ready, and planned on heading to work. My water broke at 9:45am while heading down the stairs to work! I started having HEAVY contractions at about 11am. We went to the hospital, and was 100% effaced and 5cm dialated. Contractions were 3-4 minutes apart and lasting about 50 seconds each.
I did receive an epidural, and thank goodness I did. At one point I had a hard contraction that lasted almost 4 min, and put her in distress. I had a rush of nurses/doctors come in and had me get on my hands and knee's and had to place an internal fetal monitor, to further monitor.
I then started feeling VERY cold. I was shivering to the point my teeth were chattering! They took my temp, came in at 101.1... and my epidural had almost completely wore off. I could now feel everything!
I began feeling the need to push around 7:30pm... and began!!
After what felt like the longest hour and a half w/ labor with a fever. My baby girl was born!!!
She is the most amazing baby. I could not have asked for anything more. Daddy and I are very proud.
