Hiya girlies...

Hi

I am really confused at the moment and wondered if anyone could help shed some light.. I signed up for a free trial on Credit Expert, my pin arrived today so i checked my report this evening to see all my defaults are gone!! There are none showing at all.. Now this is obviously a wonderfull thing if its right but my confusion lies in the fact that it hasnt been 5/6 years since i defaulted.. It will be 5 years at the end of this year.

Is it possible that the report is wrong or is my luck finally changing and i no longer have any defaults? If the latter is the case then thats obviously great as it means i can start rebuilding my credit and maybe one day be able to achieve the dream of buying a house. I did check my report a year ago and they were still showing, but as the website has had a facelift i am wondering if this is where the problem lies?

Any response is greatly appreciated.. Thanks for reading

Thank you to anyone who can offer any advice :hugs:

In Canada, we have three different credit bureaus and all of them have shown different information for me. I think it depends on who reports what where, if you know what I mean. I don't know what Credit Expert is, exactly. Is it a service that accesses your reports from various bureaus for you, or is it a bureau in and of itself?
Either way, you are right to pursue it and to get a straight answer. Errors can just as easily swing the other way. I'd go for accuracy, if I were you. Maybe they only post items for five years?

Thanks for the reply x

The company is there to use to check your credit rating and from what i know are one of the main companies over here.. Last year his defaults still showed on his credit file so we are hoping its the tide turning and us getting back to rebuilding his credit. I have checked and from what i can see there are 2/3 other companies that do the same as these so he is going to pay the fee to check the reports held there and then we can move onto the next step.

Thanks again x

Sometimes they may not show with one company, but will on another. Is it the same company u used b4 that showed them?

Thanks for replying Fedup x

Yeah we have always used this one to check his credit score, I have searched what i can on google but nothing really helps.. I think its only £2 to check the other company so i think thats what he is best to do.. xxx

I've been with creditexpert for a while now, and I thought it showed everything too!
I had to go for one of those passport interviews at the beginning of the year, and one of the things they use to check your identity is your credit files and ask you questions about it... well, the guy was asking me whether I'd ever had a certain credit card, and I havent. It really played on my mind and I asked him after the interview, why it wouldnt show up on my creditexpert pages, and he said there are 3 agencies and each one can have different information, depending on who the company choses to report to.. so I've had to sign up with them all now to check what he was on about (turns out it was a fraudulant account set up in my name, which I had no idea about!)

Anyway, it could be that the company who registered the default could now be chosing to report to one of the other companies, or fingers crossed, the default has just fallen off his report.. I hope for your sakes its the latter and you dont find anything horrible like I did!
